Athens

Picture
Athens is the historical capital of Europe, with a long history, dating from the first settlement in the Neolithic age. In the 5th Century BC (the “Golden Age of Pericles”) – the culmination of Athens’ long, fascinating history – the city’s values and civilization acquired a universal significance. Over the years, a multitude of conquerors occupied Athens, and erected unique, splendid monuments - a rare historical palimpsest. In 1834, it became the capital of the modern Greek state and in two centuries since it has become an attractive modern metropolis with unrivalled charm.

CYCLADES

Picture
Cyclades: The most famous island group in the Aegean Sea comprises some of the most beautiful islands in the world! Gorgeous sandy beaches, architecture in white and blue, traditional lifestyle, folk music, warm, hospitable people and barren landscapes with isolated chapels turn a trip to the Cyclades into a lifetime experience.

DODECANESE

Picture
Dodecanese: Wild, untouched beauty in the Dodecanese, sculpted by winds, customs and centuries-old traditions
The second largest island of the Dodecanese has no equal. It holds on dearly to its past in its ancient acropolis, caves, churches and even its traditional dress. The setting is dramatic in all the best senses of the word: stunning vistas from untouched, cliff top and mountainside villages that defy gravity and a fearful hammering from the wind to keep vigilant watch over the Aegean. In Karpathos you’ll discover an island with its Greek soul intact, living traditions, people of real character, musical skills passed down the generations and legendary festivals – untarnished by modern fads.

The towering Pindus Mountains, jagged rocks and a huge forest of conifers and deciduous trees make up this Macedonian landscape. Alpine valleys, rushing rivers and gentle streams. And villages crafted by generations of Vlach stonemasons, with arched stone bridges and tavernas with blazing fireplaces.
This huge National Park awaits to be discovered!

north aegean ISLANDS

Picture
Icarus, the impetuous son of Daedalus who disobeyed his father and flew too close to the sun, aptly gave his name to this rocky island in the North Aegean. Things are done differently here. No one is ever in a hurry, which might account for incredibly long life spans, and in some places the normal day/night cycle is completely turned on its head. The island itself is a study in contrasts and the unexpected.
High, bare, rocky mountains alternate with green slopes, flowing streams and beaches that could have been imported from the South Seas. Ikarians have a legendary capacity for fun, food, mirth, music and drink. Are you ready for something completely different? Come to Ikaria. It is an island-phenomenon unlike anywhere else in Greece, or the world.

EAST macedonia & THRACE

In this corner of Greece you’re at the gateway to the mysterious East and you’ll feel its proximity in mosques, menus and bazaars, and in the wealth of Byzantine, mediaeval and Ottoman monuments.
But you’ll also be enthralled by the natural wonders; the virgin forest of Rhodopi, the meandering Nestos River, the lakes and wetlands of Vistonida and Porto Lagos, the WWF bird sanctuary at Dadia and the magnificent Evros River delta. And if that were not enough, you have a plethora of antiquities and fine museums to explore. Thrace today is an intriguing combination of Muslim and Christian heritages, two societies and faiths that have coexisted for centuries. Natura/Ramsar ecosystems, caves, waterfalls, rivers, canyons, hotsprings, shelters, imposong mountains, art & culture, wine routes...
